In December, 2001, after much debate, we decided to sell Matthew to Johnnie
and Leigh Cattin. This was a very tough decision, but we now have enough
Matthew daughters and we have a two-year-old son of Matthew's that will be
Matt's replacement. Watch for more on Matthew's Mandate in April.
Alpha acquired Matthew in November, 1989. Matthew has been the focal point of our breeding program since then. He is a deep, mahogany chestnut with a blanket and spots. As a bronze-medallion halter winner with many points under saddle, Matthew provided us with a pretty individual who could also perform! He passes both these traits on to his foals. Matthew produces quality athletes with good minds and he puts a pretty head on his foals.
